Coons scores fourth Angell Park Victory of the season.

By Bryan Gapinski Sun Prairie,Wis., Aug. 25--Jerry Coons Jr. again found victory lane Saturday Night at Angell Park Speedway by capturing the 30-lap "National Midget Hall of Fame Classic. The event was co-sanctioned by the USAC National and Badger Midget Car Series, the victory also extended Coons' USAC point lead and was his fourth feature victory of the season at the track.         Ricky Stenhouse stalled on the opening lap of the feature and restarted in last position. On the restart Dan Mecum, flipped escaping injury. Once underway Dave Darland running the cushion on an extremely fast multi-grove track, held a comfortable margin over the field. Coons made his move starting on lap 9 moving into third place. Two laps later Coons assumed second place, and began erasing Darland's 1.4 second lead. Darland began lapping slower cars on lap 13, with Coons closing to Darland's rear bumper.         Coons drew even with Darland beginning scored the leader as the pair crossed the start/finish line at the midway point. Stenhouse entered the top ten on the same lap. Brad Loyet escaped injury when he flipped on lap 18. On the restart Coons drove away from Darland and the field. Stenhouse meanwhile continued his charge through the field while wagging an excellent battle for posions three-six.        
Coons driving the Wilke-PAK Motorsports/Spike/Mopar#11 finished 1.94 seconds ahead of Darland. Stenhouse, Danny Stratton and Chuck Gurney Jr. who completed  the top five. Darren Hagen, Mike Hess, Brandon Waelti, Davey Ray, Gary Altig finished in positions 6-10. Brian Ramstack set a 8-lap track record while winning his heat.
